Managing holiday stress.

Many of us take holiday stress for granted. To make matters worse we often set higher expectations for this season than for any other time of the year. For some, a busy social calendar, indulgent foods, excessive alcohol, overcommercialization and trying to please everyone can be too much. For others, finances, loneliness, sentimental memories or being unable to be with family can be overwhelming. Learn what you can do to manage stress, set expectations and enjoy this time of the year.

Help for depression.

Depression can be described as feeling sad, hopeless or overwhelmed. Many people experience this once in a while but if this lasts for a long period of time it’s time to seek help. Learn how major depression is treated, including therapy, medication and transcranial magnetic stimulation or TMS. When therapy and medications don’t help, TMS may help reduce or eliminate the symptoms of depression. TMS, a noninvasive treatment, that uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate the areas of the brain affected by depression.
